Labor and Employment Needs
- Advising on all daily employment and union issues including, among others:
- Hiring, discipline and discharge.
- Unemployment rights and obligations.
- Employment and pay policies and practices and enforcement of the same.
- Appropriate work rules and enforcement of the same.
- Leave laws, such as the FMLA and VESSA.
- Grievance and arbitration procedures.
- Rights and obligations under collective bargaining agreements.
- Drafting, reviewing and revising employee handbooks, policies and procedures.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating employment and constant contracts and severance agreements.
- Providing training on all labor and employment topics including sexual harassment, diversity, supervisory skills, employee handbooks or policies, and drug and alcohol testing, among many others.
- Conducting Labor and Employment Audits.
- Representing employers in hearings and litigation related to claims of discrimination, wage and hour violations, employment law violations, labor law violations, and union contract violations, among others
Corporate Needs
- Advising on all corporate issues including, among others:
- Entity formation.
- Confidentiality and trade secret protection.
- Employee and independent contractor issues.
- Filing Annual Corporate Reports.
- Maintenance of Corporate Books, Reports and Records.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating corporate contracts.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating employment and consultant contracts.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating restrictive covenants.
